One of the sacrifices of being a dedicated surf photographer is having to leave the board at home when the light and conditions are perfect for shooting. As I stood behind my lens on Mt. Soledad this particular morning I was not only impressed by the perfect A-frames coming through at the pier but also the will power it took to watch from a distance. It really can be torture sometimes.
